Haven't posted in awhile - just been too lazy or too busy. Here's a brief update on my oh-so-thrilling (not) life.
Still working (guess that's a good thing as I can't afford not to right now)
Started taking belly dance classes to tone up (very hard on the body)
Got another Gackt CD - Moon (can't get enough of Gackt){sigh}
Made a friend on Youtube from Germany - she's great and we both like J-Rock music (thanks Artsie for introducing me to Gackt)
Still crafting beaded jewelry to make some extra money (gotta save up for my trip to Japan)
Need to find a tutor to teach me Japanese as the local community college doesn't have a class right now
Cat #7 and Cat #6 are constantly fighting - you'd think after almost 2 months they would stop but noooo
Thinking about learning how to knit - got the idea from a Christina Skye book I read called Code Name Bikini (her books are really good) - been reading a lot lately
Well, that's about it, I guess. Happy weekend to all my LJ friends!

Got a LJ nudge from someone (you know who you are) because I haven't posted in 3 weeks. Yeah, I've been slack.
What's new???
Got another kitty (like I needed another) - this makes lucky #7. So here's Haley. She's about 6 months old and very rambunctious.

Still saving up for my trip to Japan. Emailed the college about when the next Japanese language classes would be held but no response yet. I guess I'll have to call them or drop by one day.
Violin still sitting in the closet untouched. Waiting until the end of this month to see if I have the money to finally start my lessons.
Until then I've been making my beaded jewelry, getting ready for my yard sale next week and messing around on Facebook (Farm Town and Bloodlines have been keeping me busy).
Guess that's all for now.

My husband and my sister planned a surprise birthday party for me yesterday. They actually pulled it off (I'm nosy so I usually figure these things out way before they happen).
After having a rough end to my work day, all I wanted to do was come home and soak in the tub, jump into my pj's and find something to eat. Instead I am told a friend of his is coming by so I shouldn't change into my pj's just yet.
A little while later my oldest sister pulls up (confused, why is she here?). Then I see my other sister (still not picking up on it - slow brain function). Finally dawns on me when I see the bag of goodies and the big smiles on the faces of my family.
I was very surprised and totally awed by the thoughtfulness of my family. It made me forget how rotten my work day had been. I was just so touched I had to share this with everyone.

Working on learning Japanese while driving to work.
Starting work on my mystery novel.
Got my violin yesterday. Now just have to find a teacher.
Also called about the dance lessons. Need to figure out how to schedule that too.
Hmmm, looks like I got a lot on my plate lately. True Gemini - need to have lots going on just to make me happy.

Just got 2 Gackt CD's this week from Ebay - Mizerable and Diabolos. They are both great. I love the way they use the violin and the piano - not your typical "rock" music. Makes me want to buy a violin agin - matter of fact, I'm checking into that as we speak. Never too late to learn something new, right?
Also just bought a Malice Mizer DVD with videos seen on MTV. Hope it's playable on DVD (must be compatible with Region 1).
Well, I need to get to bed. 5 is going to come too early.

I know I have a wonderful beautiful daughter but I can't seem to find her lately. She's dropped off the net. I'm hoping it's because she's got her nose buried in her textbooks or maybe she's hanging with some nice classmates but either way, I'd really like to know where she is.
I write on Myspace and LJ and send messages but no replies. My darling Artsie, are you just busy or have I done something to offend you? Please drop me a line and let me know you're ok. I miss you and worry about you.
Love ya always,
ME

Fire Horses – Years 1906 and 1966
The fire is always burning inside Fire Horses. They love living on the edge and are always ready for change as change always is more interesting. They are incredibly opinionated and one place you’ll never find Fire Horses is standing on the fence.
"Ready for change" - this seems to go along with the Gemini in me too since they are always looking for variety. And yes, I'm very opinionated and voice it often.

Played hookey today from work. Just didn't feel like going. Been in the dumps for awhile now. Winter = depression for me. The only thing that I've been doing lately is reading the Twilight series. My daughter lent me her 1st book and I've been hooked ever since. Weird, since these are supposedly "teen" books but I've really gotten into them. Guess it's my long lost youth trying to take over. Right now I'm listening to the music I downloaded and wondering "what the h*ll???". Some is ok but what was I thinking/drinking when I downloaded the othe songs. Guess I need to look for some others. My mind feels like it's been in a blender along with my heart. I'm all mixed up. Nothing new about that - can I get a mulligan? For those of you unfamiliar with that term, I want a re-do, another chance for a different outcome on my life. Some things I would not change (my daughter, for one) - just the way things turned out with them. On well, can't change the past just have to push through the tangled mess that is my life. Where's my monster (Twilight reference)? I'm ready for a change. I've seen enough of this life. I'm ready to be dazzled.

I was thinking about my daughter and waiting to leave work so I decided to check LJ. Guess who finally surfaced again? Icebluewings and she decided to tag me regarding the following:
A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it."
Here is my list of 7:
1. Quirk - I have a major case of OCD. It's takes all my self-control not to clean or straighten something.
2. Fact - I almost died 8 years ago due to 2 blood clots in my lungs - thanks to a bad foot doctor and a simple bunion surgery.
3. Habit - I have to open the door to the garage and make sure the rollup door is closed every night before I go to bed and then push on the inside door to make sure it's closed good (this is my OCD talking).
4. Fact - I've died my hair for so long, I no longer remember what my natural color looks like. My ex once joked that the reason my daughter had reddish hair when she was born was because of all my hair dye.
5. Quirk - I will break out in a dance for no reason and no music needs to be playing (except in my head).
6. Quirk - I love to shop but then I do have buyer's remorse and will put everything back without buying it or if I do buy it, I will return it in a few days.
7. Fact - I am a very stubborn, opininated person who enjoys butting heads with just about anyone just to make a point.
Now, who to tag??? Let's see, how about lynn82md, bluephoniex, catgoddess, burnmyeyes75, padhopper, waxingxmoon and karmen.
Have a wonderful week. Hugs to everyone.

My daughter graduated Saturday from high school. It was a very nice ceremony. Much different than public school - she was home schooled and they only had 12 graduates. Each student had a slide show and music playing and then they went on stage with their parents who presented them with their diploma. I watched as my daughter walked on the stage with her adoptive parents (wishing it was me up there but also knowing how much they love her and support her). So it was all good.
They had a reception in the gym afterwards with tables set up for each student decorated with their pics and keepsakes. Then we left and went to her house for a cookout with the family.
I was glad that her biological dad was able to attend. It was a very nice day but it just makes me think about how soon she'll be leaving for NYC. I wish I had spent more time with her over the years but I can't change the past. I just have to let her know I'll be around if she ever needs anything and hope she feels comfortable enough to call me if she needs me.
Well, it's late and I should be hitting the bed.
Happy Mother's Day (belated) to everyone and have a great week!

Don't know what is going on but I am dead tired. Let the cats sleep with us the other night and don't feel like I've gotten a good rest since. Oh well, just have to make up for it on Sunday (if I'm lucky).
Update (happy happy joy joy) - Got to spend the day with my daughter on Saturday. She's going away to college in the fall and I wanted some time alone with her before she leaves for NYC.
Picked her up around 9 am and we headed to the mall in WS (about 30 miles away from her house). Wandered through the mall, hit Hot Topic and bought her a hot pick/black corsette top. Next we stopped in at Forever 21 - got a black lace babydoll dress and black leggings for her. Off to Waldenbooks - 3 anime/manga books bought and then on the road to meet my sisters for lunch at the Oriental Cafe. They haven't seen her since she turned 16. After lunch we went to Barnes and Noble for another anime/manga book.
Stopped in at the Dollar Tree and then off to see what was playing at the movies. Had 30 minutes to kill before Horton Hears a Who so we went to the comic book store. A dozen comics later and now late for the movie, we decided to hit the craft store.
Checkbook was screaming and it looked like it was going to rain so we decided to head back to Lexington. Got back to her house and hung out for awhile. Got to see her senior pics and prom pics. Hard to believe she is no longer a little girl anymore.
Had a great day with her. We talked about everything and nothing in particular. It was nice to find out more about my daughter since I've not been around her as much as I'd like. She's a very quirky young lady with big dreams for the future. Gotta love that!
Her graduation is less than 2 weeks away. She asked me to come help out with setting up and I said I would. Her dad is coming up so that will be good - I don't know when he saw her last.
Grateful that I got to spend that time with her and I hope she always feels that she can talk to me. I hope she knows she is surrounded by a bunch of people who love her very much. A very special thanks goes out to her other mom for letting me borrowing "our" daughter for the day.
Can't wait for the graduation celebration. Makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy to see her graduate, sad to know she'll be leaving in a few months for NYC. C'est la vie. Knew it was going to happen one day - just didn't realize it would happen so fast. Got lots to look forward to though. Can't wait to see what she does with her life. I just hope I get to be a part of some of it. Cross my fingers. Anyway, whatever happens, happens. I will still love her and always be proud of her.
Later. Hugs to everyone.

So it's only 6 am and I've been up for 2 hours already. We (hubby and me) hit the gym this morning at 4:21. This is the 1st day of our new work out routine. Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week we plan on being at the gym early in the morning. No more excuses as to why we can't work out. Then we can work out as much or as little as we want on the weekends and not feel guilty.
It wasn't too bad - just didn't want to get up when the alarm went off but now I'm ok. I've got another way in with my Peak Health nurse in May and I need to lose a couple more pounds and tone up some so I can make my goals.
Today I go to the hand surgeon. My regular doctor thinks I have a ganglion cyst in my right hand. I get a swollen lump between my index and middle finger and it burns and throbs often. Hopefully they can aspirate it and maybe it will go away. I just need some relief.
If it's not one thing - it's something else with me. I'm still having to be careful with my back and hip. I'm majorly out of alignment and throw out my back all the time.
Sucks to be old but at least I'm alive. Right??? Well, I'm going to play a couple of Yahoo games and hit the showers. Gotta get to work soon.
Laters. Hugs to everyone and I hope everyone had a great Easter.
